How Your Donation Helps

As the only professional orchestra and one of only three professional performing arts organizations in Gainesville, we strive to provide highly engaging, excellent, and varied live orchestral concerts to our city’s growing population.

The Gainesville Orchestra has been part of the cultural vitality of Alachua County for more than four decades. We remain committed to enriching Gainesville’s cultural landscape through our regular season performances and expanding community outreach initiatives.

Each year, ticket sales cover only a portion of our operating costs. Donations are essential to ensure that we can continue offering the level of artistic excellence and variety our audiences have come to expect from the orchestra.

How We Handle Funding

While some of our work is covered by ticket sales, this makes up only a small portion of our overall funding. Most of our income comes from advertisements, grants, and the generosity of our donors. With grant funding being cut in recent years, donations—now more than ever—are vital to the ongoing success of our mission and ensure that we can continue to bring music throughout Gainesville.

The Impact of Your Donation

Every donation goes directly to our mission. When you donate to The Gainesville Orchestra, you support:

  • Our 72 talented musicians
  • Our conductor
  • Every local Gainesville event we plan and perform
  • The printing of our brochures/playbooks
  • Our marketing efforts to bring new, young people into the world of orchestral music
  • Our educational outreach and the raising of future musicians
  • Cultural enrichment
  • Our community partners and collaborations, including local schools, museums, and other art organizations
  • A legacy of musical excellence in every performance

We couldn’t do our work without you. No gift is too small to make a significant difference in our mission. We thank each and every one of our donors for believing in our mission and partnering alongside us to make it possible.
